Although the department does not have undergraduate students, however, Lecturers and undergraduate courses are domiciled in the department. All undergraduate courses with code LWIS are domiciled in the department of Islamic Law.

HOD, Department of Islamic Law
You are welcome to the Department of Islamic Law, Faculty of Law situated at the Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kongo Campus. This Department has 11 Academic staff, with seven Professors, two Readers, one Senior Lecturer, two Lecturer II and two Assistant Lecturers. The Deparment also has three non-academic staff. !
Mission, Vision and Philosophy
To advance the frontiers of learning and break new grounds through teaching, research and the dissemination of knowledge of the highest quality; to establish and foster national and international integration, development and promotion of African traditions and cultures; to produce high-level human power and enhance capacity building through retraining, in order to meet the needs and challenges of the catchment area, Nigeria and the rest of world.

The philosophy of the LL.B (Civil Law) and LL.B (WSIL) programmes offered by the Faculty is to impart knowledge and learning of international standard in Civil and Sharia Laws to men and women of all races without any distinction on grounds of race, religion or political beliefs that would meet the diverse manpower needs of the nation in both private and public sectors.
