Postgraduate Diploma in Estate Management Law

Introduction:

The Programme has as its main objective the production of manpower with skills in International Law and Diplomacy to solve relevant societal problems.

Postgraduate Diploma in Estate Management Law is a one year (12 months) professional diploma in the area of in Estate Management Law

The course will involve taught courses and hands-on practical training.

The programme is hosted in the Department of Private Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Admission Requirement:

To be considered for admission into the course, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

  • O’Level requirements.
  • A first degree in Law with at least a third class honours of Ahmadu Bello University or HND with upper credit or
  • An equivalent degree from another University recognized by Ahmadu Bello University.
  • At least two favorable letters of recommendation, one of which must be from the applicant’s previous academic advisor.
    • Forty percent (40%) of the admission quota will be reserved for female applicants.
    • Similarly, thirty (30%) of the admission quota will be reserved for non Nigerians.

Master of Laws(LLM Private Law)

Introduction:

The Programme has as its main objective the production of manpower with skills in Law to solve relevant societal problems.

i) The Full-time LL.M programme runs for a minimum of 24 calendar months and a maximum of 36 calendar months.

The course will involve taught courses and hands-on practical training.

The programme is hosted in the Department of Private Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Admission Requirement:

To be considered for admission into the course, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

  • O’Level requirements.
  • A first degree in Law with at least a second class honours of Ahmadu Bello Universityr

PhD.Law

A candidate is expected to carry out an original research and present a thesis on an approved topic. The candidate shall defend the thesis in accordance with the regulations of the University.

Admission Requirements:

The criteria for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy Prograamme in Law are as follows

  • :A Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) Degree from an approved university.
  • OR A Master of Laws (LL.M) Degree from an approved university with research thesis and a weighted course average shall normally be not less than 60%
  • Candidates in the following categories will be required to enroll for the M. Phil. programme and may be allowed to proceed for the Ph.D. programme after successful completion of the M. Phil. programme:
    • A candidate shall be required to submit and defend a well researched thesis on a chosen topic in a field or subject of his choice in Law
    • Any applicant for Ph.D in Law Faculty must show evidence of having passed research Methodology.
