Welcome to the Department of Private Law, one of the founding departments of the Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Although the department does not have undergraduate students, however, Lecturers and undergraduate courses are domiciled in the department. All undergraduate courses with code LWPR are domiciled in the department of Private Law. At the postgraduate level, the department offers Doctor of Philosopy (Phd), Master of Philosophy (MPhil), LLM and Master of Arts (MA) in private Law. The department also offers a specialised postgraduate Diploma in Estate Management Law. I invite you to explore our website to know more about the department, programmes, facilitators. The Department of Private Law shall be a leading Department of Private Law in Africa and comparable to any other in the world; Excell in imparting contemporary knowledge, using state of the art facilities to men and women of all races as well as generating new ideas and intellectual practices relevant to our thematic areas of research.
Impactful teaching and research for development based on ethics, integrity and thoughtfulness
